Yes, that’s right. Some essays are open topic. Some are specific. The open topic college essay can be about almost anything. However, the grad school personal statement is not the same. That must be about the reasons you are applying to a specific program and your research interests.
I can basically tell a story on my collage admission essay accompained with the answers of the bassics questions of admission essays (why i choosed that university, why i want to go to the university i chossed, what's the university i choosed different from others, etc)? I mean, no to offense, but sounds unreal, i know the main idea is to be ourselves and tell our personal experiences, but it quiete sounds more like a story tell than a collage admission essay.
